“Manga” style is one of my favourites
for I can exaggerate and stretch facial
expressions and body proportions at will without either losing the cuteness of
the character or having
to follow human proportions. The latter
sometimes restricts creativity so I
prefer to play with proportions freely. I placed the little girl on a
pastillage bedside cabinet to give a
sense of lightness and motion to the whole piece.
I am sure that this scene is reminiscent of our own childhood, a time when there were no rules or
limits when playing around the house. A piece of furniture was always at hand
to trigger our own imagination and transform it into so many things.
El estilo manga es uno de mis favoritos ya que ofrece
la posibilidad de exagerar las expresiones faciales y jugar con las
proporciones del cuerpo, otorgándonos así una gran libertad creativa. De esta
forma, se consiguen personajes graciosos sin la necesidad de regirnos por las
proporciones clásicas. Siguiendo dicho estilo, modelé esta niña saltando sobre
un mueble hecho de pastillaje para dar ligereza y movimiento a toda la escena.
Estoy seguro de
que esta imagen nos remonta a nuestra infancia cuando a la hora de jugar,
no había reglas ni límites y cualquier objeto de la casa era bueno para
convertirlo en lo que nuestra imaginación quisiera.
